This article explains how to move your P11D system from one machine to another.

1) Before you move your system from one machine to another always make sure you do an internal backup of P11D by pressing F3 whilst in the program and clicking ok. It would also be best to make a hard copy backup to cd, dvd or tape of the entire P11D directory. P11D does not have much of a footprint unless you are a very big organisation so copying it to backup should not take long.

2) Copy the entire P11D directory from the old machine and place on the new system. You will need to make sure that all the people who need access to this folder get full rights to the new copied folder on the new system.

3) Get a copy of the latest setup files from our website always use the latest build which is always available here

4) Run the setup.exe and when you get to the four choices choose “Update my existing system”

5) Once that is done the network side is ready to use but you now need to connect clients back to the new database. Make sure a drive is mapped from the client machine to the network share. Run setup.exe this time from the workstation and choose “Connect this computer to an existing network installation” Run through that and the clients will be reconnected to the new P11D database.
